BYD announced that it has won the bid for Singapore’s smart autonomous bus service pilot project, becoming the country’s first official Level-4 autonomous bus supplier.

The project is led by Singapore’s Land Transport Authority and requires all initial vehicles to be fully electric.

Driverless testing will begin in mid-2026 on Route 191 in one-north and on Route 400 linking Marina Bay and Shenton Way.

During the pilot phase, the buses will carry up to 16 passengers and charge the same fare as regular buses.
